Plasma Compared to Other TVs
Before you invest in a plasma TV you should about plasma compared to other TVs. Plasma TVs usually take up less space and provide a better picture than most other TVs. Things like projection TVs allow a huge picture, but without the clear picture while digital TVs allow non-television services to be available.
Digital TV
Digital TV picture technology is still in its early stages. Because of bandwidth restrictions and compression algorithms digital TV pictures may be distorted or have defects not seen in movie theaters or analog television. Although, digital TV allows special non-television services to be available.
Flat Panel TV
Flat panel TVs use eithe plasma or LCD to provide clear, crisp pictures. Flat panel TVs are much smaller than traditional television sets and normally measure 4 inches deep and sometimes less. These TVs are often mounted directly on the wall like a painting.
Projection TV
Projection TVs allow for a much bigger picture than traditional TVs. There are front projection TVs and rear projection TVs. Front projection TVs use a mounted projection device and a screen, like a movie theater, while rear projection TVs are self-contained.
